About . . . the projects
Street:
The images in the Street gallery are part of an ongoing project, which will need a better title at some point. At face value, these pictures attempt to present the everyday conducts of people in Albuquerque in a visually appealing and/or thought provoking way. That is to say, they are pictures of people doing everyday things that look cool. I wish I could say I started this project with some higher ambition or some more pointed story in mind. I wish I could say that this was a “project”. More than anything this was an attempt to do something different, to try something new. So far, I’ve enjoyed the process and the images I’ve been able to get. I suppose, at some point, I’ll have to cap this project somehow and start on something new, but until then, I’ll just continue taking pictures of people walking down the street.
Minimal:
The images in the Minimal gallery are more just a side effect of the images in the Street gallery, rather than an independent project. While I’m coming clean I suppose I should also mention that these images aren’t necessarily all “minimal”, but, perhaps, some are more of an architectural nature in their actuality. My main photographic intention, as it were, was to go out and try my hand at street photography. Of course, this meant going downtown where buildings are abundant, which led to some encounters of a rather abstract imagery. Recently, however, I’ve been going out to shoot with the intention of only photographing minimal/abstract/architectural images, as opposed to it just being a second thought. So, at some point, this might become something with a more singular idea driving it.
About . . . the photographer
Hello! I'm Matt Shubert, and I'm a photographer based in/around Albuquerque New Mexico. Currently, my main focus as a photographer has been street photography combined with the occasional minimal/architectural/abstract photo for good measure. I'm always looking to expand my photography so keep an eye out for some other projects.
